Edition 01 Q&A

With shows in the day and parties well into the night, how to keep up appearances? We checked in with Jessica Wilpon Kamel and Estefania Lacayo, co-founders of limited edition shopping site, for their tips on navigating the madhouse week.

Milk Made: Fashion week is well under way! Did you do any preparation beforehand?
Estefania Lacayo: Fashion week presents such a time crunch for me. I always make sure to have a clean simple manicure and daily blow out that allows me to think more about my outfit and less about my personal presentation.

Jessica Wilpon Kamel: I definitely try and get through my inbox and set up meetings before fashion week starts. My top tip is to plan your schedule ahead and always keep one night free for a very late night. I’ll also try to fit in some appointments at the new Tenoverten salon that recently opened in the Le Parker Meridien hotel.

What must-haves do you have stashed in your bag?
EL: IPhone, lipstick, lots of business cards and Neutrogena makeup remover towelettes.

JWK: My iPhone to keep track of time, a pair of Lanvin flats, L’annine hand cream and definitely my Moleskine sketchbook to jot down collaboration ideas for the site.

Speaking of handbags, for the week, are you more of a clutch or larger handbag kind of person?
EL: I am more of a clutch girl. I love exotic skins and statement clutches. I just recently bought an Anndra Neen clutch that I will be wearing all week.

JWK: I’m definitely a larger handbag person. I just bought a new Balenciaga motorcycle bag so I’ll alternate between that and my two-toned Celine bag.

Did you pick up any new pieces that you’ll wear to the shows?
JWK: This fashion season I’m six months pregnant so that pretty much leaves my options to shoes and accessories. I’ve purchased a few keyvpieces from Ben-Amun and Chrissie Morris which I love!

EL: Yes, I definitely did some preparation this season. I bought a few key pieces from Edition01 with some additional pieces to mix them from balenciaga, fendi trousers and a prada blazer.

Any editors, stylists or buyers who you’ll be watching for style tips?
EL: Emmanuelle Alt and Giovanna Battaglia.

JWK: I always like to see who ends up being the “it” girl to photograph. I follow a bunch of blogs and pin my favorite looks on our pinboard. Estefania and I are a bit obsessed with Pinterest.

Time to refuel: where’s your favorite spot to grab a quick lunch or dinner?
EL: Niko for dinner

JWK: My friend Matt Abramcyk’s new restaurant Super Linda in Tribeca!

Any other survival tips for the show-weary?
JWK: Bring a change of shoes.

EL: Know when to leave the party!
