Paris Fashion Week Blogger File: The Formula Blog
We’re spotlighting some of our favorite names from the fashion blogosphere and their insider take on Paris Fashion Week. Here, we feature beauty blogger Aimee Blaut the voice behind The Formula Blog.
From: New York by way of Miami
PFW Survival Tip: Bring cash, most cabs don’t take credit cards and you’ll need the number of a taxi company like G7. It’s not easy to catch a cab here, especially after a show.
PFW Hotel of Choice: Hotel Costes, it’s elegant, modern and has delicious food! The rooms are small but the ambiance makes up for it– but most importantly, the spa is insane.
Best Place for Dessert: The burnt caramel and the rose macarons from Pierre Herme give me heart palpitations. They also have an incredible Ispahan ( framboise, lychee, rose) dessert if you’re in the mood for something more decadent.
Ideal PFW Party Scenario: One that starts at 4PM so that I wouldn’t be exhausted.
Paris Restaurant Recommendation: Saveurs Végét’halles, a tiny vegetarian spot near the Pompidou! It’s where I go in Paris after a week of indulging in steak frites and tarte tatin.
Favorite Shopping Hunts: Bon Marché has everything I want; it is essentially shopping heaven, a giant LVMH department store equipped with a massive beauty floor and even it’s own luxury supermarket! If I’m in Le Marais though I always stop by COS. They have great basics.
The biggest difference between NYFW and PFW: I find Paris Fashion Week to be more democratic.
Favorite Parisian Designers: Givenchy, Balenciaga, Celine, Carven.
A Must Do During PFW in Between Shows: I like to duck into the bookstore of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, it’s right by the Tuileries.
