Rolling Stone Rock Room: Day 1
This weekend in Palm Springs, it’s all about the pool parties, and today, Milk — in conjunction with Rolling Stone Magazine — hosted their very own Rock Room Pool Party at The Riviera Resort & Spa. Greeted by hundreds of pink flamingos, lawn games, and great music blasting over the speakers, it was easy to see that this was the place to be. Partygoers sipped on cocktails while lounging poolside in addition to enjoying a DJ set from our good friends Icona Pop (who also played a show in Hollywood last night at The Writer’s Room). The cool blue water refreshed the guests of the packed poolside event and plenty of activities were around to entertain if hanging out by the pool just isn’t your thing, like a friendly game of ping pong, a water gun fight, or Milk’s own photo booth.
As the party began to die down and people started drifting off to enjoy afternoon siestas, Milk Made’s Chris Swainston, Mike Abu, and myself slipped into the pool where we found Icona Pop floating around with photographer Frédéric Pinet, and we all grabbed a couple of beach balls and began playing an epic game of “pool ball,” with the former three being a part of Team Europe and the rest of us playing for Team America. As several more people joined in, we happily lost track of the score and continued to bat the balls back and forth and swim lazily around well into the evening. When our content developer came down to remind our team that there was work yet to be done, he received a surprise attack from Pinet and was tossed into the pool (luckily no electronics were harmed in the process).
All in all, this bash was a perfect way to kick off weekend two of our Coachella-inspired festivities, and was great for beating the 101 degree heat.
