Icona Pop

With rain outside our studio windows we are all dreaming of hot weather, bathing suits, and drinking poolside. Which actually just about sums up our Coachella weekends spent in the Palm Springs desert hanging out with Icona Pop and Thom Yorke.

So we asked our favorite Swedes a few questions to heat things up just in time for the summer days ahead.

Milk Made: What’s your pre-show ritual?

Icona Pop: We have this thing where we strike a rock pose and scream YEAHHIYEAHH. We have to do it otherwise we are screwed.

MM: What’s your idea of perfect happiness?

IP: Where we are right now!

MM: 2012: Apocalypse or Utopian shift in consciousness?

IP: We only have a few months to go…That´s why we live fast, hard and without thinking.

MM: Which character from Seinfeld do you most identify with, spiritually?

IP: Totally Kramer

MM: What gives you the chills?

IP: Gorgeous men

MM: America or Europe?

IP: A proud European in America is what we are aiming for. America here we come!

MM: What words or phrases do you most overuse?

IP: We started saying ”gorgeous” to everyone and everything but then it turned into just ”gorge”.

MM: 80’s or 90’s?

IP: 90´s

MM: What is your guilty pleasure?

IP: When no one sees us we watch crappy stuff like Jersey Shore, Big Brother and Sweet 16.

MM: If you had a personal theme song, what would it be?

IP: Our own song “I love it”

MM: If you could be reincarnated as anything, what would you be?

IP: A boy…We wanna know how it feels to have a boner

MM: Who is your favorite hero based on characters in movies?

IP: Batman

MM: Who is your hero in real life?

IP: Aung San Suu Kyi

MM: Name your top 3 live performances of all time.

1.We will never forget our first one. When we forced all our friends to come and we had to improvise on stage because the songs were not finished.

2.Kiruna.VERY up north in Sweden. – There was only one person in the audience..and it was the sound engineer. But we did one hell of a show.

3.Emmaboda – a Swedish Festival. We didn’t have any expectations but when we got on stage everybody knew the lyrics.
