SNAPS: FASHION NIGHT OUT NEW YORK

In amidst the carnival atmosphere of New York City’s Fashion Night Out and far, far away from the civilized activities of Anna Wintour at Bergdorf & Goodman came a protest in the form of six models wearing vintage Vivienne Westwood and what may have been items from Malcolm McLaren’s mythical punk store, SEX. It’s not every day that a six foot tall model wearing python platforms stops traffic by waving a banner and screaming, "WE NEED BETTER THINGS!" Wielding placards that quoted Vivienne Westwood who is a very vocal voice against over consumption and thoughtless consumerism, the girls marched through the heaving crowds shouting their demands, stomping so quickly and chanting so loudly (frankly we were a little scared) that we didn’t have time to lock any of them down for an impromptu interview but we have a feeling that there’s more to this story than meets the eye….we’ll keep you posted….
