REVIEW: LUCIO CASTRO'S MIAMI HEAT
Lucio Castro’s show for MADE Fashion Week at The Standard hotel this morning saw a procession of colorful smart casual classics. Lucio said he was inspired by " Youtube videos of Clara Rockwell playing the theremin" and the "neon markings workmen spray around the city to mark out where they’re gonna make new holes" plus "Roman Polanski’s short silent films from the 50s". Phew.
What translated was a highly wearable, collection for men interested in style and design but uninterested in being featured on kooky Japanese photo blogs, flirting with androgyny or resembling an urbanite in year 2525. Real clothes for men navigating the every day.
The color palette was Miami pastels, but vivid rather than faded. Standout items included the polo shirts, selection of shorts and finally a highly desirable sporty black quilted leather bomber jacket.
