PATRIK ERVELL GOES UNISEX FOR SS13
This season the big news for Patrick Ervell, the insider’s New York menswear designer, was the launch of womenswear. Patrick’s techy fabrics and outdoorsy menswear collections have been a fashion editor must-see for most of the last decade, the likes of Jefferson Hack and Tim Blanks are fans.
The show notes called the collection an "homage to iconic outdoor brands like The North Face and Teva". This translated into into granite prints and rubberized details, bomber jackets, parkas and raglan sleeve silk shirts, in midnight to marine through to indigo blue.
The womens looks included sheer dresses and a black and white granite print dress paired with a button collar shirt. Backstage Ervell called the womenswear "an exciting but still growing baby". Adding, "this collection’s starting point was the strange intersection between performance outdoor clothing and extreme techy clothing. I think that’s where you can be innovative and do interesting things."
