Milk Made Mix Tape: Holy Ship!
Today is the first day of the second annual electronic dance music festival Holy Ship. This one of a kind experience takes place aboard a cruise ship headed towards a private island in the Bahamas. This isn’t a regular cruise full of Frank Sinatra impersonators and old ladies stuffing themselves full of lobster. With help from our friends at Hardfest, the cruise ship is turned into one giant dance party that begins shortly after the ship sets sail and basically never stops until the ship returns to Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Such an intense itinerary for the dance floor might not be for the faint of heart, but if you can handle the "wobble wobble" of dubstep vibrating you to sleep, this festival promises to be something you will never forget. Shortly after performing on last years maiden voyage of Holy Ship, EDM’s golden child Sonny Moore (AKA Skrillex) tweeted "Holy Ship! was the craziest thing to happen in EDM period".
Even the voluptuous Dita Von Teese, who worked the crowd last year by stripping herself down inside of a giant martini glass said that "Holy Ship! goes down in history as the best dance party ever".
All the massive hype left the boys at Goldenvoice feeling a little bit left out, which prompted this years first ever S.S. Coachella. Unfortunately for music festivals evil empire, we’ve heard from everyone that attended the unsold-out show aboard the S.S. Coachella that the festival… well… sank.
Today Milk Made’s Kalvin Lazarte and Mike Abu will begin their high seas adventure aboard Holy Ship! In order to get themselves pumped up for the festival, they put together this playlist of music by electronic dance mixologists like Justice, Diplo, Alvin Risk, Knife Party and Zedd, all of whom will be keeping the party going aboard the ship for the next three days. Enjoy!
Don’t forget to stay tuned to Milk Made after the weekends over to see if the boys were able to survive Holy Ship!
