Milk Gallery: Parsons BFA Photography Exhibition
Parsons The New School for Design’s BFA Photography Show runs from May 21st-May 26th at Milk Gallery.
Milk has long been a beacon for the freshest, brightest and most cutting-edge talent in the creative industries.
Through programs ranging from MADE Fashion Week to Milk Gallery Underground, they have developed a reputation for discovering and nurturing the up-and-coming individuals whose careers are about to catch on fire.
Milk Gallery’s latest undertaking, Parsons The New School for Design’s BFA Photography show, is no exception. Part of the Parsons Festival, the exhibition showcases bodies of work from the graduating class, ranging from still photography to digital projections and video installations.
Needless to say, innovation was certainly in the air at its opening on Tuesday night. Moving images emanated from an army of flat screen televisions strung with headphones. Photographic works could be found displayed as post cards for the taking, enveloped in glycine and hung from clotheslines, sandwiched between pieces of plexi accompanied by silver name tags and tucked in glass cases amongst mementos .
If you find yourself strolling the streets of New York this Memorial Day Weekend, we recommend you pop in to see the new wave of photographic talent before this exhibition flies the coop.
Milk Gallery is located at 450 W. 15th St.
