Visionaire's Private Concert
I arrived at The Standard a little early last night for the Visionaire party that started at 5pm. In light of the V MAN party the night before, I assumed there would be masses of people huddled around the door to get in. To my surprise it was quite the opposite – apparently "because its a small event and its supposed to be relaxed," the PR girl explained with a cool smile. After a week of crowds and flash-bulbs, the coo of Edith Piaf and a golden Boom Boom Room at sunset was just what the doctor ordered.
I caught up with Cecilia Dean to find out more about this unusual affair: "We are hosting a punk Korean violin performer so its not exactly a dance party type event! We thought it was perfect to host at the Boom Boom at sunset between shows with champagne!" We couldn’t agree with you more, Ms. Dean.
As the sun went down and the city began to sparkle, Hahn-Bin waltzed out into a spotlight and performed a whiplash-tastic violin performance in black pumps, a black robe, and feathered mask. For the next 30 minutes we were transfixed by his talent and his wardrobe, which included leopard leggings and Jeremy Scott shades. After he finished guests had to recover from a momentary dream state, realizing the night had just begun. In a flash we were all off to the next show!
