Proenza Schouler's Roadtrip
It literally took a road trip for guests like Liv Tyler, Chloe Sevigny, and Ryan McGinley to get to the Proenza Schouler show last night, located in the lower depths of Manhattan. Fitting, though, since the underlying theme of the collection was journeying south – the southwest, to be exact. Designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez were inspired by a Sante Fe roadtrip, and the Native American influence was obvious. Taking cues from the bold colors and blankets crafted in that region, the design duo created similar patterns – but with a typical PS twist. Intricate geometric patterns in mustard yellow, fire red, and indigo set the catwalk ablaze. It was haute meets heritage in a way only Proenza could pull off.
