Meet The Tumblr Crew: Part 1

It’s an annual rite of passage for Tumblr to send its brightest fashion minds to MADE Fashion Week, from which they emerge like butterflies with an unquenchable thirst for whiskey. Meet the young minds we’ll be featuring all week here on Milk Made.

Ryan Charchian, The Fashionisto Diaries

Launched in Washington DC, Ryan Charchian’s“>Fashionisto Diaries started as a way to share his opinions and adventures in the fashion industry. His daily posts skew a bit differently — like into Tim Gunn’s closet or a detailed review of men’s underwear.

Favorite fashion designer?
Rebecca Minkoff. I first met Rebecca when my blog was just starting. It was a designer meet-and-greet at my local Neiman Marcus in the DC suburbs. She was so sweet and I told her that that September would be my first fashion week. She let me borrow one of her first Ben Minkoff bags for the week.

Blog post your most proud of?
Recently, I took a peak inside Tim Gunn’s apartment. I’m not sure what else could top that!

Favorite band?
I’m weird with my music tastes, but one of my friends has been making me listen to the Pretty Reckless a lot.

MADE Fashion Week designer you’re most looking forward to?
Most likely The Blonds. Last season was just so much fun and a unique inspiration. I can’t wait to see what they come up with this season.

Fashion VIP you’re most likely to stalk?
Suzy Menkes. I am an advertising and marketing communications major and in my journalism class we analyzed her writing. I have a lot of respect for her and enjoy all of her pieces.

Hannah Sider

Spending her childhood between countries as different as Africa and Canada, Hannah Sider has seen a lot more as a kid than most of us have as wayward adults. It’s sharpened her eye for interesting images, and the babes in her photographs have that extra edge that make us all stop scrolling through our Tumblr dashboards.

First camera?
My first camera was a cheap 35mm film camera. I can’t remember the brand, but I was 12 years old.

First photo that you took that you loved?
One of the first photos that I loved was one that I took a couple of years ago while I was shooting a music video. We had a smoke machine in a forest and the sunlight was pouring through the trees.

Favorite band?
Favorite band is a difficult question because I love so many. Nine Inch Nails was the first CD that I ever owned, so they definitely hold a special place in my list of bands

MADE Fashion Week designer you’re most looking forward to?
I’m most looking forward to Jeremy Scott. He always brings some necessary humor and fun to fashion week.

Fashion VIP you’re most likely to stalk?
Natalie Joos and Miroslava Duma are two people that always look amazing and I love seeing what they’re wearing.
