Party Central: New York Loves Kendrick Lamar
If you judge a party by how many people risked their lives to catch a glimpse of it, then MADE Fashion Week got off to a damn good start thanks to our hosts from Jawbone. A small gang crowded onto the tops of moving trucks parked outside the Milk Studios loading docks to see Kendrick Lamar take the stage and show everyone why he calls himself the King of New York.
After a few minutes into his set, Kendrick paused to check the crowd’s mood: "My job is to make sure you’re having a good time. Are you all having a good time?" Even the people one slip from a broken ass roared back with a yes.
The Dutch producer clique Illuminati AMS kicked off the evening and Travis Scott jumped in later with the #Been #Trill crew to keep the party rolling well into the night. High heels and sneakers rubbed against each other on the dance floor where some good old-fashioned dance circles took shape, and a clown made it rain all night across the stage from Kendrick. A blazing light show sprayed the room, and the #StartsWithJambox hashtag floated on the walls (You might want to keep that one in mind if you run across a Jambox during MADE Fashion Week…). Old friends and new mingled and we caught sight of Theophilus London, Nur Khan and Steve Stoute, to name a few. Stick around — MADE Fashion Week is here and the party is just getting started.
