Sporty Fun At JACQUEMUS SS14

The crowds gathered and fought their way through into Richelieu Drouot’s famous game arcade La tête dans les nuages, which Simon Porte Jacquemus chose for his Spring – Summer 2014 Paris show. He transformed the 1990s arcade into a proper fun-loving and original maze of a catwalk. There were chairs and benches going round and round, but some of us chose to sit in the seat of a racing game, like F355 Challenge. Fun ’80s style music with an up-beat tempo (that perfectly matched the venue) played quite loudly as models — mixed in with friends of the designer — walked through the video game maze in sporty, cool-yet-feminine looks. Most were white — with matching white socks and Spring Courts — but there was also some royal blue, Barbie pink and tennis green…. There were low-waisted straight skirts, over-sized jumpers worn as dresses, sun caps, big tee-shirts with ice-creams on them; and everything put everybody in a good mood.
