RUNWAY REVIEW: JULIEN DAVID SS14
To Michel Gaubert’s choice of African drum beats and flashing blue lights — that turned into videos of the models entering the catwalk — Julien David’s Spring – Summer 2014 collection unveiled with bright colors, playful prints and fashionable shapes. The models wore their hair to one side with a braid plaited to their head on the other. Some of them had large but discreet feather-like earrings, and all of them wore either sandals or buckle shoes. Their flats and their relaxed walk made for a casual yet feminine silhouette with their cardigans tucked into high-waisted trousers and tight belts. Neon pink trousers, sparkly over-sized hoodies, colorful cosmic sea fruit print full looks and holographic polyurethane exuded chic with a hint of modernity. “The Tribe of the Seven Seas” was David’s theme for this season, and indeed his collection was fresh, marine and cheerful.
