YAZ BUKEY’S FABULOUS SUPERMARKET
For Spring – Summer 2014, Yaz Bukey entirely redecorated Maison Darré, the designer’s friend Vincent Darré’s art and furniture gallery. She transformed the already delightful narrow boutique into an imaginative and attractive supermarket-esque Laundromat filled with bubbles, foam, giant toothbrushes, glamourous nearly nude pin-ups, soap clutches, mini washing machine bags… The designer was inspired by useful objects we all need on a day-to-day basis, and which make us all obsessive and compulsive consumers. The colors were bright, cheerful and the accessories were both extravagant and elegant. There was ’60s Doo-wop playing in the very back, and the beautiful pin-ups were prancing around in their giant superbly fun plexi accessories and mini-outfits.
