Front Row At Electric Daisy Carnival

The rave behemoth that is the Electric Daisy Carnival drew a mass migration of colorful east coast ravers to the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey across Memorial Day weekend. Originally a one day event in Southern California, it has become a traveling electronic road show, expanding globally to stops in the UK and Puerto Rico. As of 2013 it has become the largest attended EDM festival in the world with over 320,000 punters at the 2012 Las Vegas show.

As with most outdoor summer events anywhere near New York City, it rained on the first day; a punishing rain storm stalled proceedings mid afternoon as the outdoor stages vacated while throngs took shelter inside the stadium’s halls, before west coast conditions broke through and the revelry resumed. Headliners included Bassnectar, Afrojack, Hardwell, Calvin Harris, Tiésto and Boys Noize as well as a few old school favorites including Carl Cox, Green Velvet, John Digweed and 2 Many DJs.
