"Impossible Love" with Soo Joo Park
If you’re into fine art, fashion and are tragically crippled with a short attention span (thank you, internet) then we’ve found the perfect film for you.
Milk Made caught up with Soo Joo Park to talk about her latest project, "Impossible Love," from Vs. Magazine and filmmaker Jenna Elizabeth. Park’s dramatic role showcases another side of this lovely model who’s always on the hustle, and proves to us that stepping out of our comfort zone is a positive step to take.
Why did you join this project?
There was something alluring about the synopsis, of falling in love with something or someone unattainable—it sounded sophisticated and reminded me of ancient Greek or Roman myths. I’ve always loved those stories.
What was your favorite thing about being apart of this project?
I got to develop a character and work her out together with Jenna. It was a very intense but connecting experience.
How does the overarching theme of “Impossible Love” relate or not relate to your personal life? What haunts you?
The feeling of yearning for something you don’t have, I think it’s relatable for anyone. I used to daydream a lot, and have crushes on boys secretly because I am shy. Being alone with insomnia at night haunts me. It’s the worst.
What was it like working with Jenna Elizabeth and Vs. Magazine?
A dream! Jenna is young but truly talented, and the team at Vs. Magazine is excellent in harnessing talents beyond ‘fashion.’
What’s next for you?
Well, I spent the last couple months traveling and working nonstop, so hopefully I’ll have a few days off, but not for long—I have the ‘Impossible Rest’ condition!
