The Knife Are No More
It’s befitting that on this gloomy New York Friday we bring you these sad news: The Knife, our favorite Swedish electronic sibling duo, are splitting up after their Shaken Up Show tour ends in November. The band revealed this news in an interview with Dazed Digital to their shock and ours and and every other fan out there who might also be torturing themselves by having a sad dance party to their music.
Karin Dreijer aka Fever Ray told Dazed, “When we finish the tour now in November we will close down, it’s our last tour. We don’t have any obligations to continue, it should only and always be for fun.” The tour comes as a show presentation to their album Shaken-Up Versions, a remix album to their impressive 2013 album Shaking The Habitual (that magnificently “knifey” album that runs at 96 minutes long #bless). Our torn hearts are crossing their fingers in optimistic hope that this is just temporary, but even if this really is the end of The Knife at least we have four amazing albums, appearances by Olof Dreijer aka DJ Coolof, and the possibility that Fever Ray might make a return. In the meantime we’ll be watching this video of Karin karaokeing “Heartbeats” at Westway a while ago #veryrare. R.I.P The Knife.
