Hey! Ho! Scorsese to Direct Ramones Biopic
Continuing to prove that he’s not just the world’s number one gangster-director but also quite the music aficionado (never forget Shine A Light), Martin Scorsese is in the works to direct a Ramones biopic. Let your imagination run wild with how raw the film will be #yassssss! The news comes from Jeff Jampol, manager of the legendary punk band’s estate, at a recent and “probably the last Johnny Ramone tribute [we’re] gonna see,” he told Billboard. “We’re all gonna focus on the Ramones, and it’s that whole thing of, ‘United we stand, divided we fall.’”
While there’s not that much info released yet on the Marty x Ramones collaboration we do know that it’s scheduled to come out in 2016 as part of a 40th anniversary feast of the eponymous Ramones album which launched them into the world. Just dream of the possibilities of this movie though…you get Marty, for one, you get a recreation of CBGB’s (R.I.P.), you get to fantasize who will play not only every Ramone but other music staples of the era like David Byrne or queens Patti Smith and Debbie Harry, amongst others. I mean, the possibilities here are endless! What do you think: Leo DiCaprio as a middle-aged Dee Dee Ramone?
