First Look at Houghton SS15

Houghton met the pressure as the opening show to MADE Fashion Week SS15 with a stellar display of their signature loose fitting, ready-to-wear realness. This season’s collection was one focused on the presentation of clashes, from sweaters and men’s button ups paired with opaque lace skirts to devastatingly ornate formal gowns that were decked with plaid. The informality of the Houghton brand was accentuated by the adornment of beach-day ready Birkenstocks on the feet of every model. We were gagging with pleasure over the silk cut gowns that looked both sex goddess and naptime glamor in equal parts. The Houghton aesthetic is known for being an effortlessly casual label, and from what we saw today it seems that the biggest effort when wearing this collection would be trying not to look undeniably fabulous.
