First Look at Peter Som
Peter Som wants us to party. At least, that’s what his SS15 collection told us. With an array of matching suits in black/white/red flower prints, striped pieces, and gold sequin numbers, Som created the perfect sartorial orchestra to take us from a day garden party in the English countryside (complete with croquet games à la Heathers) to dance-filled nights at Studio 54. The collection also included a breath-taking olive green flower print with which he opened the runway, and Som gave a makeover to the classic button-down/skirt combo by making the shirts longer than the skirts, making for an avant-garde game of peek-a-boo. Beauty was kept demure, with gelled-back braids and glowing skin and the subtlest under eye neon makeup that we’ll try at home but probably fail to get just right. And thanks to the Tom Vek “Nothing But Green Lights” remix that the models stomped down the runway to, we’ll be looping the line “989 black Mercedez-Benz” in our heads over and over for the rest of the day.
