First Look at Maison Kitsuné

Out of all the collections this season that would be considered "ready-to-wear," Maison Kitsune’s SS15 line takes the cake. Stepping into the presentation room was like walking through the streets of a seaside town in southern France, naval colors were on full display amongst the menswear, which were paired with classic boat shoes and floridly bright tote bags. A full hound’s-tooth suit and an outfit that was pure baseball fan Americana brought an added dose of character. The womenswear was a mix of outfits for casual stroll and sparkling executive wear. Facile tee’s bearing the brand’s logo were matched by precisely measured skirts and buckle shoes, while the other end of the spectrum saw a Chanel-esque pink suit that immediately evoked Jackie O and a Metropolis-like silver pantsuit complete with shirt cuffs and collar that was right out of "Express Yourself" era Madonna. For a collection so effortlessly casual, it’s almost easy to forget the dedicated amount of craftsmanship put into each outfit in the ensemble.
