First Look at Jeremy Scott
Jeremy Scott’s SS15 collection was not so much a line of clothing but a whimsical menagerie of pop culture potpourri. Attended by the likes of Whoopi Goldberg, 2 Chainz, Perez Hilton, and Scott’s contributor/muse, the one and only Miley Cyrus, the runway was transformed into a rager worthy of being used in one of Miley’s music videos. The clothing itself was a veritable smorgasbord of influences; from dirty hippie with a millenial twist to J-Pop floral patterns, magic 8 ball skirts, jack-o-lantern sweaters, and a strangely curious set of tops adorned with the face of Shrek (one bearing the slogan "Shrek Happens") ruled the day. Accessories ranged from bed comforter shawl to Little Bo Beep caps to the Miley-designed head pieces that simultaneously evoked children’s party craft time and melted ice cream sculpture. The ethos behind this apparel is a mystery perhaps best left unsolved, but Scott gives us a little inkling to his frame of reference with one top emblazoned on the front with "Don’t Take Drugs." The back? "Give Them to Me."
