Morrissey's New Animal Rights Merch
No surprise to long-time Morrissey fans, the former frontman of The Smiths is speaking out for animal rights. Today, the artist launched an online merchandise store with pillow cases covered edge to edge in his own lyrics and t-shirts emblazoned with portraits of the artist. The standout of the bunch is a text-only shirt reading "Be kind to animals or I’ll kill you." Morrissey proves he still has a way with words–blunt and sometimes overbearing words, but he has a way with them, nonetheless.
Morrissey is a longtime activist for vegetarianism and supporter of PETA. In 2009, he protested to the audience at Coachella that he left the stage because the smell of "burning animals" made him feel sick. More recently, the Staples Center in L.A. even agreed to serve only vegetarian food on the night of his performance, presumably making him the only artist to "shut down" McDonalds in the literal sense, and not in terms of "getting rowdy."
It may seem like the artist hits the nail over the head, but his full-on activism is completely justified after witnessing the skinning of live animals to make a fur coats. #preach
