Kevin Smith Reveals Plans for Clerks 3
Whoever said your failures won’t account for your successes didn’t consider the backwards ways of Hollywood. Kevin Smith announced today that Clerks 3 finally received the funding he chased for quite some time, even though his previous release, Tusk, was far from a box office hit.
Critics slammed Smith’s last flick as a “tonally incoherent joke” and “misfire of literally gross proportions.” In spite of the messy outcome, the big guys in suits saw potential. In an episode of his Hollywood Babble-On podcast, Smith explains, “Tusk was the absolute bridge to Clerks 3…a year ago I was desperately trying to get Clerks 3 made for the 20th anniversary…but it was Tusk, and people going ‘Holy fuck, what else do you have?’ I was like Clerks 3 and they’re like ‘done’.”
The film is currently without a release date, but fans will surely be pleased with any glimpse at Dante and Randall’s misadventures.
