Qiu Minye's ethereal light figures
‘My God’ is right. At his second solo show at the OFOTO gallery in Shanghai, Chinese photographer Qiu Minye exhibits a new way of recording time by removing the identity of an image and leaving us with only the silhouette. The shapes appear to be floating, illuminated by ethereal strands of light. Minye manipulates the recognizable and leaves us with delicate, transparent shapes of animals, humans, and other detached objects. The photos are so gorgeous we almost feel like writing haikus about them.
Check out the lovely images for yourself. They’ll be on display at OFOTO until December 6.
