amfar honors tom ford at Milk Studios
Last night at Milk Studios L.A., style genius Tom Ford was presented with the American Foundation for AIDS Research’s inspiration award at their fifth annual gala event. The amfAR Inspiration Gala celebrates men’s fashion while also raising money for lifesaving research programs.
Ford’s award was presented by none other than music goddess Rihanna. In her speech she stated, "Throughout his career, Tom has been committed to giving back to the community. He has been, and continues to be, a dedicated supporter of the fight against AIDS. He’s been a generous friend to amfAR for many years, and is a loyal supporter of the Elton John AIDS Foundation…We honor him for inspiring us with his creative genius, his leadership, his integrity, and his generosity. We honor him for doing good while making us look good." Well said, Rihanna!
Milk Studios was jam-packed with the designer’s famous admirers, like Milla Jovovich, Rose McGowan, Dita Von Teese, Eddie Redmayne, Kat Dennings, Justin Timberlake, and host Gwyneth Paltrow, amongst many others. Ford was also toasted by amfAR chairman Kenneth Cole.
The event was a total success (not just because Rihanna and Miley Cyrus managed to avoid nip slips) and we can all look forward to seeing more of Tom Ford’s awesome fashion and commitment to eliminating AIDS.
