Stella McCartney x Adidas Announce StellaSport
It’s hard to believe that Adidas by Stella McCartney turns 10 this year, but the designer and the mega sportswear brand have done little to let time slow them down. To commemorate the anniversary, the pair has just announced a brand new line of gear titled StellaSport. The lookbook was just released mere hours ago, and if it is any indication of some of the coming trends in athletic wear, get ready for a vibrant season.
Though the collection is aimed at girls between the ages of 15-19, almost every piece has a sense of practicality and uniformity making it perfectly acceptable for different age brackets—but perhaps we’re just envious enough to buy it even if we’re not a high school girl. Every single piece of apparel is rich with neon color, evoking late 80’s finesse but grounded by the stylistic sleekness of contemporary athletic wear. Note the mesh tanks with matching leggings or the vintage style windbreakers as the most commanding pieces of junior wear seen all season, and pay special attention to the diversity of McCartney’s patterns, from the pink animal print leotards to the dichromatic marbled hoodies.
McCartney in her statement shared that “the Adidas StellaSport girl is young, current and vibrant, looking to make a statement and stand out,” a goal that is brought into clear focus thanks in large part to McCartney’s efforts to “fuse performance with style.” Looking fabulous in the gym during your New Year’s Resolution membership will never look so good.
StellaSport launches online and in Adidas, Topshop, and Nordstrom stores on January 15th
