The Fashion L.A. Awards Honored the Best in Fashion
Last night L.A. was on fashion fire as the hottest of celebs and industry influencers flocked to the Sunset Tower Hotel to celebrate the first installment of the Fashion Los Angeles Awards. The awards show was hosted by the Daily Front Row, Zanna Roberts Rassi, and Joe Zee, and had a turn out that leaves no doubt this was the must-attend fashion event to kick off fashion week season.
Need proof? Milk’s very own founder, Mazdack Rassi, received the award for fashion innovator of the year from pal and Milk friend Kanye West, while Katy Perry, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus (all three ladies wearing bow-down Moschino outfits), and Jeremy Scott cheered from the front row. In an 8-minute speech, Kanye said about Rassi, "This guy let me, a celebrity designer, work at Milk Studios when Adidas couldn’t figure out where my offices were … And I promised him that I was going to be fucking good. It wasn’t about me being a celebrity…I fucking love this guy, and he sets an example to us as a humanitarian, as a visionary, and as an innovator." Congratulations Rassi!!
The night was a double celebration for the Milk family as Jeremy Scott received the award for womenswear designer of the year from his previous fashion collaborator Miley Cyrus. "Without really knowing much about Jeremy," Miley said in her speech, "I went to the rack and every single thing I came out wearing was Jeremy Scott. And he was one of the designers who wasn’t afraid of me, especially in the beginning, and was willing to take a risk. He lets us wear Shrek, he lets us wear Sponge Bob! It’s pretty much the coolest thing." Smiles and proudness all around!
Other guests included Drew Barrymore, Nicole Richie, Ciara, Rachel Zoe, and Kerry Washington, amongst other bad-ass babes. Bella Hadid and Cody Simpson were also there, supporting Gigi Hadid on receiving the award for model of the year. Other winners included the red-soled master Christian Louboutin for shoe designer of the year, and Calvin Klein Collection’s Italo Zucchelli for menswear designer of the year.
The event was so fly that we’re in the process of photoshopping ourselves into that front row photo. Ain’t nobody fuckin with my (wish list) clique.
