You Have 24 Hrs To Own OG Hip-Hop Prints
This Thursday may as well be a hip-hop lover’s Christmas. For 24 hours only, photographer Danny Clinch will be selling a variety of shots of legendary rap geniuses via his webstore. Clinch’s extensive archive features iconic images of The Fugees, Run DMC, Outkast, and Tupac, so it’s possible that at least one, if not all, of these notorious faces will be up for grabs.
Announced on Clinch’s Instagram, the sale will most notably include unreleased shots from the cover shoot for Kanye’s first record The College Dropout back in 2004. If you don’t recall, the album cover features Kanye slumped on gymnasium bleachers dressed as a college bear mascot. For someone’s first album cover, Kanye’s choice to have his face covered stumped Clinch, as mentioned in an interview with Complex. "I was surprised as anyone that he covered his face for the album cover, but at this point, knowing his history of breaking the rules, it doesn’t surprise me at all."
A price point hasn’t yet been established for these images, but we can assume that they’re going to cost well over a pretty penny. So get your credit cards ready guys, and keep an eye on Danny Clinch’s Instagram for updates on the chance to own some incredible images from hip-hop’s past.
