We're Obsessed With OC x Vivienne Westwood
[Opening Ceremony]( http://www.milkmade.com/articles?utf8=✓&search=opening+ceremony) is hosting a [Vivienne Westwood]( http://www.milkmade.com/articles?utf8=✓&search=vivienne+westwood) revival. In celebration of Dame Westwood’s classic Worlds End boutique, which is also the name of her legendary runway show back in 1984 Paris, the British designer is revisiting some of her iconic styles, and bringing them back to life. In collaboration with OC, the collection is set to hit stores February 9th, and exhumes those 70’s and 80’s punk era dreads—the ones responsible for pilgrimages made by fashion lovers of the ornate to Westwood’s infamous U.K. shop.
The idea behind the collaboration is to create a, “culture-driven collection, with the aim to spread the word of positive activism,” as stated in the press release. With slogans like ‘Do it yourself’ branded across t-shirts, and the bloodied word ‘Chaos’ written along the chest of a dress, the collection is indeed punk, and readily active in it’s new modern context.
Don’t live in New York or L.A., but still want to shop these new threads? No sweat, you can find them all on the Opening Ceremony [website]( http://www.openingceremony.us) as soon as the collection goes live.
