Art Masterpieces Are Better With FatCat
Forget looking at those basic pictures of cute cats on the web. This little ginger fatty is the fanciest Internet cat, changing the way we perceive classic art pieces such Da Vinci’s ‘Mona Lisa’, Botticelli’s, ‘Birth of Venus’, and many more. His name is Zarathrustra (find her on [FB]( https://www.facebook.com/fatcatarrt)) whose owner, Svetlana Petrova found the robust kitty charming enough to be painted into a series of timeless masterpieces. The Russian artist is also the founder of [FatCatArt,]( http://fatcatart.ru/?lang=en) the website home to endless memes of fat cats making their art-model debut.
In conversation with Huffington Post Live, Petrova talks about her relationship with her cats and art: ‘I lost my mother in 2008 and she left me Zarathustra. I got horrible depression after her death and for two years I was unable to do something creative. I’ve had cats before and included them in my work, like playing in theatre shows and I’ve made costumes for them. But I thought, ‘What can I do with Zarathustra, because my mother spoilt him and he’s so fat’.’ Well, Petrova we’re glad you found a place for Zarathustra!
Take a look at just a few of the appearances made by the lovely Zarathustra, her chubby demeanor will brighten your day and make you wish people painted more fat cats.
