First Look at Ammerman Schlosberg
Conveniently taking place on Friday the 13th, Ammerman Schlosberg’s FW15 collection was quite literally a waking nightmare. It became apparent that the designing duo of Liz Ammerman and Eric Schlosberg had not only set up a runway presentation but a veritable haunted house as we were issued hospital bracelets by a rather sinister looking nurse upon entry to the presentation room. The runway was tiled to look like the sanitized floors of a hospital, and balloons carrying messages like ‘Get Well Soon!’ or the faces of hapless puppies were tied to each inch of the runway.
The collection itself was a sight to behold. Emerging to deafening thrash metal music with titles like ‘Dead Bodies Everywhere,’ each model’s outfit was a representation of psycho murder ward. The clothing was divided between leather BDSM wear and fabrics in crisp black, white, and red held together with visibly jagged seam work. Enormous attention was paid to the accouterments, which included eye patches, witch-like fingernail extensions, a wealth of buckles and straps, and even straight jacket arms that manifested as head wear. The collection was naturally tied together with profuse amounts of blood, be it in the form of handprints on faces, running out of ears, and even one model that was crying blood. It quickly became clear that Ammerman Schlosberg were designing their Fall collection with Halloween on the brain.
