Derek and Hansel reunite at Valentino
In case you’ve been feeling that this year’s runway has been lacking a certain model’s really ridiculous good looks, this morning, Derek Zoolander stunned audiences everywhere with his Valentino debut. Walking to the tune of the Human League’s ‘Don’t You Want Me’, Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson reunited as their alter egos, Derek and Hansel, to close the Valentino FW15 show.
Midway through his runway walk, Stiller grabbed vine star Jerome Jarre’s phone to take a close up of his infamous ‘Blue Steel’ look, cuing both loud laughter and applause.
Derek and Hansel’s return to the runway signals the announcement of the release of Zoolander 2 — the highly anticipated sequel of the 2001 hit comedy, Zoolander. However, Stiller, who directed Zoolander, will not be directing the sequel. Instead, Justin Theroux is set to direct the film, with Stiller and Theroux collaborating on the screenplay. The two previously worked together on the 2008 action-comedy film, Tropic Thunder.
Zoolander 2 will be released next February, 15 years after its first installment hit theaters. The film is scheduled to start filming in Rome this spring.
