About Last Night: Jeffrey's Charity Fashion Show
Although Fashion Week is long gone, Jeffrey Kalinsky, the mastermind behind the innovative upscale boutique Jeffrey, knows how re-create that exciting atmosphere in the most stylish and charitable way. Last night at the 12th annual Jeffrey Fashion Cares runway show and auction, Kalinsky enlisted some of Fashion’s A-listers to fight for LGBTQ rights and HIV prevention.
Besides bringing together Anna Wintour, Zachary Quinto, Narciso Rodriguez and dozens of undressed male models for the event, Kalinsky promises to donate 80-85% of all proceeds from the auction to various organizations like Lambda Legal, a HIV/AIDS activist group, Hetrick-Martin Institute, a nonprofit supporting LGBTQ youth, and ACRIA, an AIDS research initiative.
In light of the recent discriminatory laws in Arizona, Quinto, who hosted the event, expressed, "I feel like unity and visibility and standing together and raising awareness and raising money and combating that kind of hatred is really important now more than ever." He later opened the auction by proclaiming, "It’s such a powerful time to be gay" — we couldn’t agree more.
The items up for auction included a trip to men’s fashion week in Paris, a trip to New York fashion week, a trip to Lake Como, Italy, airfare and tickets to Elton John’s Oscar party, a 3 night stay at any Waldorf Astoria, and best of all —the chance to bid on the world’s most expensive vibrator made by Lelo.
While that trip to Italy sounds nice, we’re most interested in who won that vibrator. ;)’
