Coachella 2015 Day 3: Drake, Florence + the Machine, Jamie XX...

When you get to Day 3, waking up and getting ready can be a struggle. Thankfully, there are a plethora of brunches and pool parties to help ease you back into festival mode. We attended Milk Made’s own Retreat at Sparrows’ Lounge, and got to nosh on healthy fare by The Fat Radish and Clover Juices (trust me, your body needs those nutrients), got accessorized with a custom made necklace from The Jewelry Bar, and chilled out in the air conditioned vinyl lounge provided by Marshall & Gibson headphones. We almost even squeezed in a free massage, manicure, and body painting session, but decided we needed to catch some of our favorite artists at the festival instead.

What So Not was our first set of the day (and easily, one of our favorites), who brought out the beautiful George Maple as his surprise guest, decked out in an all gold outfit and a matching 24K gold manicure. We were even lucky enough to hang with them after their set too.

From the instant Stromae got on stage, the audience was captivated. There was non stop screaming from his smooth dance breaks (a cross between a Brooklyn limp and Paris fashion week runway) and a number of calculated dramatic pauses.

Jamie XX came in intense and aggressive, his tracks driving the heartbeat and pulse of the crowd.

Gesaffelstein always delivers when it comes to visuals and intensity; it’s always amazing to see him calmly smoke a seemingly never ending cigarette in his fitted suits while he throws down the best dance party of the festival.

Then came the festival’s headliner, Drake, whose set was super mellow and mostly tracks from his current album, which really felt more like an R&B concert, with a backdrop of a rainforest and real rain water. The talk of the night was definitely his surprise guest Madonna (for his aptly named song, "Madonna"), but unlike the on stage kiss that she shared with Britney at the VMAs, the internet revealed close ups of Drake’s face post make out session, and he did not look like he enjoyed that moment. We all enjoyed the performance though and anything that ends in a huge firework display makes any event feel festive and exciting. We survived Coachella for another year, and that’s reason enough to celebrate.
