'Mean Girls' Spin-Off 'Mean Moms' is the Hump Day Treat You Need
Last year Mean Girls celebrated its 10-year anniversary to the shock of everyone like us who swore that 2004 was still only a couple of years ago. The cult classic film, which is one of the most quotable movies ever made, has a special place in every fan’s heart, which is why the ‘sequel’ Mean Girls 2 (which featured none of the original cast/makers) went straight into TV oblivion.
However news today of a Mean Girls spinoff, called Mean Moms, might just be what we’ve been waiting for. The film will tell the story of a small-town mom who moves to an upscale suburb where she learns the hard way that meanness is as prevalent in moms as it is in high school queen bees and wannabes. The film is to be directed by Horrible Bosses 2’s Sean Anders, and the title role is rumored to be played by none other than Jennifer Aniston.
No word yet on whether Tina Fey will be involved, but the screenplay will also be adapted from a Rosalind Wiseman book titled: Queen Bee Moms And King Pin Dads: Dealing With The Parents, Teachers, Coaches, And Counselors Who Can Make — or Break — Your Child’s Future. While we wait to hear more information about who will join the cast, we know once thing is for sure: we’re in for some hump day treats, cool moms, burn books, sweat suits, and lots of plastic surgery.
Put on your best pink Wednesday outfits, this is a cause for celebration. Oh and don’t forget, if you’re gonna drink we’d rather you do it in the house.
