Thrashing with Ho99o9, Prayers, & Total Freedom at MADE Music
You know things got good when you still can’t fully hear anything the morning after a concert. The other night’s MADE Music show at Elvis Guesthouse was a medley of talented performers and a lit crowd, which included Scout Willis, Eli Reed, Petra Collins, and Audrey Gelman. The real star of the show, though, was the music, which began with a DJ set with Total Freedom who played the best warm up music to start dancing to.
Prayers were the first to take the stage, and decked in all black outfits (including black nail polish) the duo made everyone in the crowd move to their music, which had reminiscent hints of The Knife. The second act of the night was the dudes of Ho99o9, who immediately floored the crowd by stepping onstage in a bridal gown and a paper bag mask, respectively. Things got heavy as people started mosh pitting and crowd surfing to hip-hop-heavy-metal before demanding that the band keep playing well after they had to. A testament to how loud things got at the MADE showcase? Not a single person who left the show could stop yelling.
