Hari Nef Joins the IMG Models Family
2015 has been a hell of a year for the trans community, with Bruce Jenner being the center of the biggest public coming out of the millennium, a trans male leading in the competition for a cover feature on Men’s Health, and Andreja Pejic becoming the second trans model to become the face of a major makeup campaign, amongst other of the amazing accolades. Now there’s one more thing to add to the impressive list: Hari Nef, the trailblazing artist, actress, writer, and model, has just been signed to IMG Models’ board of women/talent.
Hari joins the IMG roster of supermodels like Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, and Lara Stone. About Hari, IMG said, “We’ve worked with transgender individuals in the past and are excited to add [her] to our board as we continue expanding the definition of beauty by working with men and women of all sizes, ages and ethnicities ([like] the ALDA women, Viktoria Modesta, China Machado etc). We believe that the industry is best served by celebrating beauty in all forms.”
While an IMG contract will certainly keep her busy, Hari continually exerts her talents in all possible artistic disciplines. Aside from recently graduating from Columbia University with a degree in Drama, Hari has also recently forayed into the world of music, lending her voice to some songs in up and coming NYC rapper Chapman’s debut LP Progress Report, as well as having her working featured in publications such as Vice and Dazed & Confused.
We are of course thrilled for Hari to cement a new face to not only the transgender community, but also to the modeling world itself. The year is halfway through and we are already seeing the biggest beauty revolution that fashion has ever seen. Can’t stop, won’t stop.
