My Little Pony x Versace, Balmain, Fendi + More
Growing up sucks– so why should we? In recent years, various fashion designers have managed to incorporate iconic childhood toys into their designs to ensure that we can all stay kids forever. From Jeremy Scott appropriating motifs of Barbie and Spongebob through his Moschino line, to JC De Castelbajac‘s Lego and Disney fashion shows— now comes the newest wave of nostalgia chic, which stars the irresistibly cute My Little Pony.
In just this past week, the pretty pony has managed to start a phenomenon of itself in the fashion world. On Monday, London based designer Katie Eary rid us of any leftover childhood innocence when she previewed her menswear Spring 2016 line, which was entirely composed of neon pony peens. And today, this obsession has hit a new level, with Firenze4Ever’s collection of designer stuffed mini horsies hitting eBay.
As a part of the Firenze4Ever festival, an annual style event organized by Italian concept store LUISAVIAROMA, 10 legendary designers got together to create their own diverse array of My Little Pony plush pets. Ranging from Rick Owens’ all black bae, to Pucci’s paisley pony, and Kenzo’s swagged out brony, each My Little Pony reflects the distinct creative vision of its’ designer. So no matter your style, there’s a cute and cuddly pony out there for you.
The profits from the ultra chic toys go directly to the victims of the recent earthquake that devastated Nepal. You can go bid on them for your niece, nephew or even for yourself — we won’t judge you– because let’s face it, adulthood isn’t all that it’s cracked out to be.
