The Jeremy Scott Doc Serves Up Celebs and Kansas Farmland
After conquering the runway over the past few years, pop culture design guru Jeremy Scott looks poised to take over the big screen. Set to be released on September 18, The People’s Designer followed Scott as he prepared his debut F/W 2014 runway collection for Moschino as their newly appointed Creative Director. In case you needed a refresher that’s the collection that featured Warhol-inspired takes on pop culture staples like McDonalds, Spongebob Squarepants, and assorted junk foods.
Flanked by the staple "Jeremy Scott crew" of Rita Ora, A$AP Rocky, Miley Cyrus, and current Moschino covergirl Katy Perry, the designer talks about his humble upbringing in rural Kansas City, Missouri and the struggles of homelessness that he faced in Europe before becoming fashion’s favorite party boy.
“As a kid, on a farm, in a small town, looking at magazines and seeing high fashion and wanting to be a part of it so badly, I didn’t realise the runways were fake and that TV wasn’t real,” Scott revealed.
The designer has transcended fashion and become a brand name entirely separate from his roles at Adidas and Moschino. With an unyielding love for pop culture, he injects his signature boldness into everything he touches. The party goes from the runway to the big screen in September but you can check out the Katy Perry-fronted Moschino ads now to ease the wait.
