Chance the Rapper Gets Killed in New Film
Hip-Hop is headed to the big screen. With A$AP Rocky and Tyga making waves in the summer flick of the year DOPE, it’s clear that the movie industry is making way for some of rap’s biggest talents. Next up in this hip-hop goes Hollywood movement, comes Chicago creative Chance The Rapper. Aside from collaborating with the Social Experiment on their latest albums, the Acid Rap king recently threw a sick free festival in his hometown and surprised fans when he invited Compton classic Kendrick Lamar on stage. But get this– the Chi Town hero is now working on his blossoming acting career. The 22 year old is set to star as ‘Dax’, a pizza delivery driver, in the upcoming murder mystery titled Slice.
Although Chance starred in the short film Mr. Happy last year, Slice is his first feature film. The film, which follows the murder of Chance’s character Dax, will be directed by Austin Vesely, the man behind the Social Experiment’s ‘Sunday Candy‘ video. No release date has been set, but according to IMDB, the film will be out in early 2016.
So which rapper do we want to see take on an acting role next? We’re rooting for a Titanic remake, where Drake revives his acting career and plays every role. We’ve all seen Degrassi— we know he can make us weep. We’ll never let go, Aubrey!
