Lily-Rose Depp Blossoms as Chanel's Freshest Face
Ah, to be sixteen again. For the typical teen, it’s the age of make outs and mall rats and midnight runs to a friend’s house. But for Lily-Rose Depp, being sixteen means casino nights with supermodels and photoshoot days as the new face of Chanel. The Insta it-girl is the star of the Parisian fashion house’s pearl eyewear campaign. No biggie.
In the teaser for the campaign (shot by Karl Lagerfeld himself), the young model dons the Chanel pearl-studded sunnies and a pastel, flower-strewn blouse. Accompanied by a sultry smokey eye and deep rouged lips, Baby Depp seamlessly blends feminine badass-ness with an ethereal glow. Her central role in the campaign comes as little surprise after making a star turn at Chanel’s haute couture casino last week with her mother in tow.
Being the daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis certainly gave Lily-Rose its set of perks. The teeny-bopper’s made her mark in music videos, films, magazines, and her tastefully curated Instagram. Before she could even talk, she acted as the inspiration for her mother’s album Bliss. Life is good when your dad is everyone’s fave on-screen pirate and your mom is Karl Lagerfeld’s muse. But despite the catty thoughts of nepotism that come to mind, the celeb-baby is taking it all in with a grain of salt. Lily-Rose recently tweeted out, “No one is going to hand me success. I must go out & get it myself. That’s why I’m here. To dominate. To conquer. Both the world, and myself.” You go girl.
Lily-Rose may have the world on a silver platter, but she’s still giving it her all. That said, we can’t help being a bit jealous of all she’s done. It’s been a sweet sixteen indeed.
