GOT's Brienne of Tarth Stars in Dame Vivi's New Campaign
2015 has become to unofficial year of genderless clothing and we’re loving it. The newest bit of agender fashion comes from the OG punk rock designer Vivienne Westwood’s new campaign ‘Unisex,’ where she cast Game of Thrones actress Gwendoline Christie. The 6’3” goddess, who plays the badass knight babe Brienne of Tarth, teamed up with male model Leebo Freeman and photographer Juergen Teller for the shoot.
Dame Vivi has become quite fond of Christie, having her new muse walk in her FW15 show while sporting a killer pantsuit. We love the grungy vibe we’re getting from this new collection, which features Westwood’s classic tartan print and a fur-collared, leather coat that American Horror Story: Coven‘s Supreme Witch Bitch Jessica Lange would rock while slaying. In Westwood’s press release she stated, “In this collection the same suit can be worn by a man and a woman, then I realized Gwendoline would be perfect and would fit the clothes so I asked her to do it.”
And the love doesn’t only go one way. Speaking to The Independent, Christie said of the designer and her work, "I love the ‘Unisex’ theme of this collection. It is so relevant for Vivienne Westwood to reassert their activist mindset and create a collection that takes us beyond our current gender stereotypes with beauty and intelligence." It’s refreshing to see a different kind of beauty landing a campaign like this and we can’t wait to see what else the rocker fashion duo rolls out next.
