Tim Hamilton's Dreamy Designs
Tim Hamilton caused quite a stir at his Thursday evening show at The Standard: fussy guests waited up to forty minutes in line to see Hamilton’s latest designs, although Nicola Formichetti (friend of Tim and Gaga’s style master) got through much faster. The clothes were straight out of another world, with prints by Ross Bleckner, oily leathers, finely cut suits, and chunky knits–but the music was equally ethereal, courtesy of Mr. Andy Butler (of Hercules & Love Affair). Let’s hope other American menswear designers take a cue from Tim and move on from the lumber jack look–not a single plaid in the show!
Even more exciting was the collaborative feeling in the air. There were t-shirts with imagery from artist Collier Schorr, the chicest creepers ever by Smithfields (with brass additions by the epic stylist Jason Farrar) and a bevy of friends modeling including Kim Ann (also of Hercules & Love Affair) and artists Oskar and Silvia Prada.
