Virgil Abloh just released a new capsule collection with Levi's, and to celebrate, we took a deep dive into his most memorable collaborations to date.

A Deep Dive into Virgil Abloh's Coolest Clothing Collabs

Virgil Abloh is a man of many trades. Though he’s often referred to as the creative director-slash-best friend of Kanye West, through his various independent endeavors, he’s made it clear that he has a creative vision of his own. The former designer of the now-defunct Pyrex Vision founded Off-White back in 2014. But what started as little more than a seemingly streetwear label has, in less than ten seasons, become worthy of a LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers. And that doesn’t even cover half of his own undertakings; Abloh has also founded Bromance Records with a group of Parisian DJs and producers and performs as a DJ himself. During the first week of October, the perennial jet-setter released a new collection with fragment design titled “FLUO”—one of his many ventures into the Asian Market—and just last week he unveiled a capsule collection with Levi’s. The collection includes such gems as a shearling trucker, a bomber jacket, and a slew of different style jeans, and is being sold for a pretty penny. So to celebrate the man of sundry talents, we’re looking back on some of his best fashion collaborations to date.

Known for combining high and low fashion, Abloh teamed up with the luxury online retailer SSENSE and filmmaker Pierre Debusschere on a special capsule collection complete with subtle tie-dye looks and bold Off-White graphics.

Midnight Studios

Keeping his affinity for youth culture alive, Abloh partnered with young designer Shane Gonzales of Midnight Studios to create a grungy, West Coast-inspired collection.

Spaghetti Boys

The DJ-slash-art collective comprised of Asspizza, Kerwin Frost, and Ray Martinez have cultivated a range of events and collaborations all centered around the coolest kids on both the west and east coasts. And so it was only a matter of time until the Spaghetti Boys and Off-White worked together on something of their own; around this time last year, they unveiled a spooky collection appropriately titled “Horror Disco.”

Dr. Martens

Abloh has officially made Dr. Martens cool again; Off-White has teamed up with the ’90s footwear staple on a new collaboration that’s available to purchase online.

A$AP Bari’s VLONE capsule collection was presented in L.A. earlier this year with the help of A$AP Rocky and Abloh himself. Unsurprisingly, the streetwear brand and Off-White designed a cooler-than-cool skate-inspired menswear line.

Stayed tuned to Milk for more collaborations.
