A Hot Minute With Miguel
Last season we spotted Miguel front row at Baja East‘s collection in an incredible all-white ensemble. This time around the R&B crooner and all around sweetheart coincidentally matched his blue and red look to the luxe-wear brand’s SS16 collection.
We chatted with the superstar and long term Baja East supporter about why exactly you can find him on the front row for the brand’s every show.
I’m glad to see you again. I know you’re a big time supporter of Baja East.
The guys are my favorite in real life but to watch them emerge and really create something that shapes culture right now — I love what they’re doing as far as blending masculinity and femininity. It’s incredible, man. I loved it.
What has made them one of your favorite designers, aside from blending gender and all of those things?
I think their spirit really comes through in everything they create. You meet them and you get a sense of their personalities. I think their personalities are very refreshing and they have a very good balance of knowing how to go with the flow, and also dictating the change. I think it shows in all of the designs and that’s why it’s one of my favorite collections. I’m gonna always be here.
What’s the craziest thing you’ve seen at Fashion Week?
I don’t know about the craziest thing. That’s a tough one. The partying afterward is the craziest—but not too crazy.
Are you catching any other shows at Milk this week?
I’m actually really not sure! I haven’t looked at my schedule. I’m running on literally no sleep.
