A$AP Rocky Heads Up The Dior Homme FW '16 Campaign
This morning, Dior Homme released their Fall/Winter’16 ad campaign with brand new faces: A$AP Rocky, photographer and filmmaker Larry Clark, actor Rod Paradot, and model Dylan Roques. Shot by Willy Vanderperre, styled by Olivier Rizzo, and overseen by the Dior Homme Creative Director himself, Kris Van Assche, the ambassadors in the campaign are creatively diverse, spanning across multiple artistic fields.
Dior Mag wrote that A$AP Rocky “embodies the empowered masculinity of today’s urban aesthete.” He totally does! All the fuccbois who imitate him do not, but we hope that maybe, one day, they’ll get there.
By now, Rocky is basically a mainstay in the industry. He’s collaborated with Guess and, most recently, J.W.Anderson; he’s a regular at the most talked-about shows (hi Gucci); and he’s starred in campaigns for Alexander Wang and DKNY. And let’s not forget that the tastemaker even has a song called “Fashion Killa.”
As Dior stated, cult filmmaker and photographer Larry Clark was included in the mix for revealing a “brooding elegance.” His photographs and films (which famously include the legendary Kids), which often explore the dark underbelly of youth culture, remain as hard-hitting, thoughtful, and controversial as ever.
French actor Paradot may be a little more unknown to those in the States, although he recently won accolades for his performance in Standing Tall. Roques also hails from the land of delicious bread, cheese, chocolate, and wine, and he’s a super fresh face–prior to the release of this campaign, he was best known for opening the Dior Homme FW ’16.
