About Last Night: David Beckham Turns 'Outlaws' Party Up
Finding a venue to match the vibe of the event is one of the most important, but often overlooked, aspects of planning a good party. Luckily for us, someone did their job the right way in putting together the premiere party for Outlaws, the upcoming surrealist short film from LEGS Media’s Geremy Jasper and British brand Belstaff. For a film about motorcycles in a grungy Mexican circus, a darkly lit speakeasy accessible only through an underground alley proved the perfect marriage of atmosphere and event.
And what an event it was. The entire party was nearly shut down upon the arrival of David Beckham, who happens to be making his acting debut in the film. He was joined by his co-star, the legendary Cathy Moriarty, as well as familiar Hollywood faces like Justin Theroux and actor/designer Waris Ahluwalia. Keeping in line with the film’s dark circus setting, women in bizarre face make up and men in tight leather jackets and gloves weaved their way around the guests handing out glasses of Moet.
The ornate speakeasy was still packed to the gills at closing time, and most of the guests had to be dragged off the dancefloor blasting a refreshingly vintage playlist of swing and big brass music. The atmosphere of the location certainly matched the film, but it was hard for anything to match the sheer bombast of the vibe of the people at play.
